The Reserves hosted Godmanchester Reserves after our midweek defeat to Kempston, with us looking to get back to winning ways.
The match started with Moulton having lots of possession but being unable to create anything with it. After 20 minutes a long ball forward from Godmanchester allowed their winger to run at at the Moulton defence, only for Luke Smart to bring him down. The penalty dispatched expertly into the bottom corner 0-1.
Moulton weren't behind for long though, as in 25th minute the ball fell to Adam, 10 yards out, who passed the ball into the back of the net. 1-1.
This was quickly followed by a stunning long range effort from Jude, putting Moulton in the lead 2-1 and for about half an hour a contender for goal of the season.
Moulton didn't have it all their own way as Godmanchester had their own long range effort which squirmed under Finley, who seem to forget he could use his hands, in the 35th to make it 2-2. Followed by Godmanchester taking the lead through an own goal by Luke Smart, who headed the ball past an out of position keeper. HT 2-3

After a half time dressing down and substitution of Dan for Greg, Moulton started brightly, with Godmanchester struggling to get a touch. In the 50th minute, Moulton equalised for the second time, through substitute Dan, whose back spun volley hovered through the air from 25 yards out, into the top corner, in surely what will our goal of the season. 3-3
The game's dynamic changed again in the 55th, as Godmanchester full back pushed on unchallenged, before releasing a shot past a helpless Finley. 3-4

Durrell's heavily deflected shot found the net, past a wrong footed keeper after good work from Thomas, in the 65th minute 4-4.
The game was finely balanced and a host of changes, pushed the game in Moulton's favour with Davide and Luke Bell stretching the game and their defence.
A short corner routine, found Josh unmarked at the back post to put Moulton back in the lead after 75th. This was followed in the 80th by Davide slotting the ball past the goalkeeper to make in 6-4.
Moulton had more chances, through Davide and a Durrell effort that was ruled out for offside. Moulton's strength in the bench paid off today, as cameos from Josiah and Rob helped sure up the team until the final whistle.
