Moulton are back in home league action on Saturday when they entertain Ampthill Town at Brunting Road (KO 3:00).
‘The Amps’ currently lie just below Moulton in 6th place having attained 39 pts from their 20 matches to-date (11 wins; 6 draws; 3 defeats). Looking at their goals scored, they are just over half that scored by Moulton (30/58) but have conceded under half of Moulton (16/35). Their last match was away more than a week ago (21 Jan) when they were knocked out of the Bedfordshire County Cup by Stotfold, 4-1. Their last four league matches, which go back to 30 November, have seen them win 1, draw 2 and lose 1. The win was at home to Leighton Town Res (3-2) on 14 Dec; draws away to Royston Town Res (1-1) on 30 Nov and away to Eaton Socon (1-1) on 18 Jan; the defeat at home to Cranfield (0-2) on 28 Dec (surprise result as ‘The Amps’ had won 2-0 at home to Cranfield in the Beds County Cup on 3 Dec). Their season started off quite well with them being undefeated in their first 7 games.
Previous games between the two teams has seen two draws and two defeats
7 Feb 2023 (H) lost 0-2
21 Mar 2023 (A) drew 1-1 (Scorer-Evans)
12 Aug 2023 (A) drew 2-2 (Scorers-Adams, Camacho)
23 Mar 2024 (H) lost 3-4 (Scorers-Ansu (2), Isom)
So hopefully we can rectify our home form against them and win away instead of draw.
Saturday’s referee is scheduled as Rhys Stewart, a new face officiating a Moulton game.
