Moulton are back on their travels again this Tuesday (12 Nov) when they travel down to play Leighton Town Reserves (KO 7:45). This is the rearranged game that should have been played on 19 Oct, but had to be postponed due to a ‘waterlogged’ pitch.
Since that date, Leighton Town Reserves, known as ’The Reds’, have slipped down two positions in the league and currently occupy 16th place with 11 pts from their 13 games (3 wins; 2 draws; 8 defeats). Their last 6 league games has seen them pick up 1 pt, a draw at the beginning of September v Rothwell Corinthians away, but lose away at Letchworth and Cranfield (both 1-2). They have lost their last 3 home games v Wellingborough Whitworth (1-3); Stotfold Res (2-3) and Rothwell Corinthians (1-2). To add to the defeats, they were beaten at home to Desborough Town in the Div 1 Cup at the end of October and the previous Saturday to Elstow Abbey (A) in the Bedfordshire County Cup. Their 3 wins to date all came in August v Long Buckby (H); Letchworth (H) and Raunds (A).
Last season ‘The Reds’ played under the Leighton Town Development banner where we lost to them in September at home 1-3 (Our scorer: Gideon Oppong) but salvaged a draw away 1-1 (Our Scorer: Nat Ansu). Last year ‘The Reds’ finished up in 8th place league position with 67 pts from their 38 games (Won 20; Drew 7; Lost 11).
Tuesday’s referee is Luke Pilley, who has officiated a couple of games involving Moulton, the 3-0 defeat over at Buckingham Town in March and the 3-2 home win v Eaton Socon in August.
