Leg 6 of the tour of the South Midlands took Moulton FC to Forde Park to take on Langford and they included 16 year old Ben Fulthorpe making his full debut. Disaster struck after only 15 seconds , when from the kick off a hopeful ball forward by the hosts caused confusion between defender and goalkeeper and a Langford forward nipped in to put his side in front. Moulton’s first chance came after 13 minutes when Nat Ansu was set up by Andy Hall but his snap shot was straight at the keeper. The home side were busy and not letting the Magpies settle and on 19 minutes increased the lead, when a sloppy pass in midfield was seized on by a Langford player and he strode on before striking the bar with his shot but the rebound fell nicely for a team mate and he had the simple task of converting. Within 6 minutes it was 3-0, a corner from the right was half cleared and when the ball was returned in to the 6 yard box a neat back heal completely deceived Jonny Vallance in the visitor’s goal. However within 2 minutes Moulton responded and from a Luca Iaciofano corner Dan White headed goal -wards, the ball was partially cleared but HARRY DARNELL followed in to head over the line, there was confusion as to whether the original effort from White was in but eventually Darnell was credited with it. As the half wore on the Magpies looked better Ansu had another half chance but the best one came with 10 minutes of the half left, Ivandro Monteiro set Lewis Isom away on the left and his inviting ball across the 6 yard box fell to Iaciofano but he scuffed his shot wide.
HALF TIME LANGFORD 3 MOULTON 1
Moulton started the brighter of the two teams in the second half and Keiran Ashman caused the home keeper some discomfort with a cross come shot early on and from the resulting corner Hall blazed well over. Langford responded with 2 long range efforts before Moulton should have reduced the arrears further when Ansu wriggled free in the box but the home keeper made a great save with his legs to deny the striker. With 25 minutes left Dylan Weston and Francis Boateng replaced Ashman and Darnell but within 5 minutes the home side increased the lead , a nice move down the Magpies right resulted in a tap in from 8 yards. Jack Barnett and Pierre Ngolo replaced Isom and Iaciofano, and Ngolo was soon in the action hitting the side netting after being set up by Hall. As the game went into injury time Ngolo worked hard to win a corner and from the resultant kick by Barnett WHITE headed in to reduce the arrears.
