Moulton were quickly back in action after Saturdays win against Eaton Socon when Buckingham FC visited Brunting Rd. The Magpies included the weekend’s hat trick hero Junior Musvaburi meaning top scorer Nat Ansu had to be content with a seat on the bench. The game started fairly evenly but the home side struck first on 12 minutes when LEWIS ISOM cut in from the left and found the bottom corner of the net from 18 yards. Not long after Andy Hall and Jack Barnett combined to set up Musvaburi but he couldn’t direct his header on target, as Moulton continued to dominate. Jonny Vallance in the home goal wasn’t called into serious action until the 21st minute when he blocked a close range shot and at the other end Ivandro Monteiro burst forward but dragged his shot wide of the far post. The home side were still looked the better side and Luca Iaciofano saw a shot beaten away following a short free kick taken by Hall who was involved in the second goal after 37 minutes. Keiran Ashman won a challenge before passing to the veteran midfielder, who in turn fed Dan White, he turned sharply before setting IACIOFANO free in the box and he converted at the near post, and just before the break Hall saw a long range shot saved by the keeper’s legs.
HALF TIME MOULTON 2 BUCKINGHAM 0
The Visitors came out with more intent in the second half and Valance was called into action soon after the break and with 53 minutes on the clock they grabbed a goal . Dan White lost the ball deep in his own half robbed by Jack Clarkson who moved forward before hitting a shot that took a huge defection wrong footing the Magpies keeper. Ansu replaced Musvaburi soon after and was in the action straight away blazing a free kick over the bar after Monteiro was fouled on the edge of the box.. Moulton were having a sticky 15 mins or so after the goal but then were desperately unlucky not to increase their lead on 68 minutes when Barnett swung over a corner Josh Melling’s header crashed against the underside of the bar before being cleared. Iaciofano who had been a handful all night again broke free on the right and crossed into the box but there was no one to finish it off, and not long after White and Ansu combined but the striker was wide of the target. Dylan Kelly replaced Isom on 78 minutes and 2 minutes later the Magpies put the game to bed, Ashman put ANSU through although at first he seemed to be beaten to the ball by a Buckingham defender who somehow contrived to give him it back and he needed no invitation to bag his 8th goal of the season. Montiero, Melling and Iaciofano were replaced by Francis Boateng, Harry Darnell and Archie Elmore with 10 minutes left and Kelly was unlucky to see a shot go wide after cutting in from the left. With the game entering added time Darnell put ANSU clear inside the box and he finished clinically to put the icing on the cake. There was however still time for Vallance in the home goal to excel himself twice firstly pushing away a long range shot and from the resultant corner tipping a downward header up onto the bar and away to safety in a Banks v Pele stylee ( if you know , you know ).
