The Magpies hit the road for the first time this season hoping to build on the maximum points achieved from 2 home games when they visited Huntingdon Town. The visitors were first to show and from a Jack Barnett corner Dan White rose at the far post but couldn’t get any purchase on the header and it was saved easily. Moulton continued to make the running and another far post header this time by Luca Iaciofano found the roof of the net after good work by Barnett and Archie Elmore. Huntingdon had a great chance on 20 mins when the no 9 wriggled free but was stopped as he was about to shoot by a brilliant tackle by Josh Melling. The Magpies thought they had taken the lead on 30 minutes when Iaciofano crossed from the right Elmore finished with aplomb but was flagged offside. Moulton had the home side pinned back for the rest of the half and a succession of corners nearly paid dividends, firstly top scorer Nat Ansu had a chance deflected out and the resultant kick , the ball was cleared to Iaciofano just outside the box , he beat 2 defenders but saw his shot deflected over for another corner. The resultant corner by Barnett was retrieved at the far post by Harry Darnell and his cross back in was met by Melling but the home keeper saved brilliantly to keep the scores level. With 5 mins of the half left Moulton felt hard done by ,Ansu wriggled free of his marker about 35 yards from goal but then appeared to be hauled back as he was about to bare down on goal, neither linesman or referee agree, and the half ended goalless.

The visitors had the first chance of the second half when Iaciofano and Francis Boateng combined down the right but Ansu scuffed his shot from the edge of the box, and not long after Darnell headed on to the roof of the net from yet another Barnett corner. The home side came more into the game and had more than one decent chance but could not find the net and didn’t trouble Magpies stopper Jonny Vallance. Moulton were still creating chances at regular intervals and Ansu had the ball in the net after 55 mins but was adjudged harshly to have handled, and soon after Darnell won the ball high up the field and fed Iaciofano but he shot straight at the keeper from an angle. Manager Gary Petts made a couple of changes soon after with Lewis Isom and Ivandro Montiero replacing Elmore and Darnell. Huntingdon also created some good chances but still couldn’t make them pay and nearly conceded with 82 mins on the clock when Isom crossed from the left and only a deft touch by a home defender stopped a tap in for Ansu. With the game looking like a frustrating stalemate for the visitors they grabbed a winner , Melling played a ball forward and when Andy Hall flicked it on ANSU won a footrace with his marker before firing past the advancing keeper for his 6th goal of the season
