Moulton entertained Cranfield Utd in the second game of the season and the visitors forced a corner early on which was cleared quickly by Magpies keeper Josh Durrant and from the quick break away Dylan Kelly just failed to find Nat Ansu in the visitor’s box. Cranfield were pressing high but got caught with another break when Ben Jackson and Luca Iaciofano combined to put ANSU in a footrace and he held off his marker and bundled the ball past the prone keeper to put Moulton in front after 15 minutes. Cranfield pressed for an equaliser and twice in quick succession Durrant was forced to save and in between times Harry Darnell shot well over for the Magpies. Slightly against the run of play the home side went further in front after 37minutes Dylan Kelly put ANSU in another footrace which he won comfortably and then finished with a deft touch from an acute angle. The visitors refused to submit and Durrant was forced into another point blank save as the half ended.

2 minutes after the start it should have been 3 Ansu was in again but this time the keeper saved, but last year’s top scorer wasn’t to be denied and a minute later it was 3-0, Jack Barnett swung over a corner from the right and when Dan White headed back ANSU was on hand to flick the ball in from close range. The 3 goal lead only lasted for a few minutes when the visitors were rewarded with a goal. The high press by the visitors from earlier had abated and Moulton should have put the game to bed with 62 mins on the clock Ansu broke clear again but with Iaciofano free to his right he chose to shoot and the Cranfield keeper saved. The Magpies made a triple change soon after with Josh Adams, Junior Musvaburi and Ivandro Monterio replacing Ansu, Darnell and Kelly. Adams was straight into the action and a cross from the left found Iaciofano in the box but he couldn’t generate any power in his header and the keeper saved easily, and not long after Barnett was just over with a free kick as Moulton pressed for a 4thgoal. Lewis Isom replaced Iaciofano with 3 minutes to go and had a gilt edged chance before the end but hit the side netting.
