(H/T 1-0)
Moulton visited Huntingdon Town for a League cup quarter final tie with a five regular players missing for various reasons and included Connor McMillan for his first game of the season and under 18 striker Luke Bell making his first senior start. The first real opportunity came for the visitors after 15 mins when Aaron Dickins and Josh Adams combined down the left with Bell getting in at the far post but his header was well saved by the home keeper, and not long after Nat Ansu set up Bell again but he was again thwarted by the keeper. Moulton were in complete control and Ansu was unlucky to see a shot on the turn go just over the angle of post and bar, and Ansu had another chance not long after being set up by Andy Hall. The constant pressure did pay eventually after 31 minutes when ADAMS out on the left drifted in what looked like a cross but the ball ended up deceiving the keeper and dropping in at the far post. The Magpies continued to dominate and from an Adams corner Bell headed forward but Ansu couldn’t direct his header goal wards and in was injury time before the home side had their first chance but it went over the bar.

Moulton kept up the pressure and 2 mins after the restart with Hall driving into the area but seeing his shot blocked and from the resulting corner McMillan shooting just wide, and moments later Adams saw a free kick blocked on the edge of the box with Ansu drawing a brilliant reaction save from the follow up. The home side were giving away an alarming amount of free kicks and from one the Magpies increased their lead, Hall floated one in from the right and with the keeper struggling under pressure from Ansu the ball dropped invitingly for JOSH MELLING six yards out and he tapped into the empty net with 63 minutes on the clock. The visitors wrapped up the tie with 15 minutes left ANSU drove into the penalty area down the left and was brought down, he got up to fire the resultant penalty high into the net. Moulton keeper Filipe Mederios was forced into action for the first time in the match with 8 minutes left and Huntingdon did gain a consolation in injury time again from the spot after Melling was adjudged to have handled blocking a shot but the Magpies progressed to the semi-final for the second year in succession .
