Moulton welcome Irchester United to Brunting Road on Tuesday (KO 7:45) for the Spartan South Midlands Division One Playoff Semi-Final, which is likely to be an entertaining fixture.

‘The Romans’, having led the division prior to our last meeting between the teams back in February, ended up in 4th position with 76 points from their 38 games (23 wins; 7 draws and 8 defeats). Their last four games saw them win 2 at home against teams from the bottom half of the table, 5-0 v Royston Town Reserves and 5-3 v London Colney but lose 2 to teams towards the top of the table, 1-3 v Desborough at home and on the last day of the season, 1-2 away v Wellingborough Whitworth. Interesting to note that Moulton and Irchester have a nearly identical goal difference (45/44), with Moulton scoring 95; conceding 50, Irchester scoring 96; conceding 52.

Prior to them entering the Spartan League in the 23/24 season we hosted them at Moulton in an NFA County Cup match on 22 March 2023 in which we progressed to the next round with a 3-2 win, goals from Hall, Okoye and McCarthy. Last season, in the Spartan league, we drew away in Oct (2-2), goals from Adams and Iaciofano before a win at home at the end of Dec (3-0), goals from Ansu (2) and Hall. This season saw us win away 4-2, goals from Ansu (3) and N’golo and at home in February 2-1, goals from Iaciofano and Isom.
