‘And we move on’. Moulton are back in league action on Saturday when they entertain Leighton Town Reserves at Brunting Road (KO 3:00).
Since we played them away in November, Leighton Town Reserves (known as ’The Reds’) have elevated themselves one place up the league table and now occupy 15th place with 19 pts from their 19 games (5 wins; 4 draws; 10 defeats). Their last 4 league games has seen them pick up 6 pt, with 2 home wins v Raunds (3-0) and London Colney (1-0). The other two games saw them defeated away at Ampthill (2-3) and at the end of the year (their last match) at home v Buckingham (0-1). After a good start in August, with 3 wins v Long Buckby (H); Letchworth (H) and Raunds (A), their only other wins have been as above. Our away match with them in November this season saw a 1-1draw, a goal from Nat Ansu after 4 mins and their equaliser in the 22nd minute.
Last season ‘The Reds’ played under the Leighton Town Development banner where we lost to them in September at home 1-3 (Our scorer: Gideon Oppong) but salvaged a draw away 1-1 (Our Scorer: Nat Ansu). Last year ‘The Reds’ finished in 8th place in the league with 67 pts from their 38 games (Won 20; Drew 7; Lost 11).
Saturday’s referee is documented as Ben Jerrams (although that could change on the day), who has not officiated a match involving Moulton.
